Reorganising
Cinephilia
An inter-university project

Where
Reorganising Cinephilia is an inter-university project that opens up spaces within the academic curriculum. The project encourages teachers and students to reflect together on the filmographies of women and other dissident identities.
Films made by women, queer people, and people of colour — or those at the intersection of these identities — often do not receive the attention they deserve in academic settings. The difficulty in finding rigorous sources on women’s filmographies, as well as the scattered nature of these sources, means that film and audiovisual degree curricula lack filmmakers who transcend the multiple canons of film history. Typically, the filmographies of these filmmakers are taught through separate modules or subjects, which prevents a structured understanding of their work.
In 2026, Reorganising Cinephilia will consist of a series of meetings with students from the University of Barcelona, Pompeu Fabra University and ESCAC.
