Salto del eje

With the collaboration of Diputación de Barcelona, Gobierno de España, Alto Comisionado contra la Pobreza Infantil y Pantalla. Federación Estatal de Coordinadoras de Festivales de Cine y Contenidos Audiovisuales.

The Mostra Internacional de Films de Dones de Barcelona joins Salto del eje: the film creation programme aimed at teenagers in the province of Barcelona, with activities in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, in the Fondo neighbourhood.

The MIFDB has worked with the Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council and a group of young people from the Germina Foundation to create a short documentary film that will be shown as part of El meu primer festival and will be screened at different film festivals outside Catalonia. The activities have been accompanied by professionals from the film sector linked to the MIFDB:

Carmen Menéndez, film director and editor with experience in the documentary field and working with teenagers and young people; Marga Almirall, filmmaker and professional specialised in film education activities, member of Drac Màgic and of the MIFDB team. It also has the special collaboration of Neus Ballús: film director and screenwriter, author of films such as La Plaga (2013), El viatge de la Marta (2019) and Sis dies corrents (2021), among others.

The programme Salto del eje is a national programme promoted by the High Commission Against Child Poverty and the Ministry of Culture and Sport, in collaboration with Federación Pantalla, and is part of the Cultura que transforma initiative launched by the Spanish Government.

In the province of Barcelona, it has been launched under the umbrella of the project Barris i Comunitats: motors de transformació social de la Diputació de Barcelona, and is carried out in seven neighbourhoods of municipalities in the province in conjunction with seven film festivals.

The aim of the programme is to integrate cultural policies into the agenda of the fight against poverty and inequality in childhood, recognising the transformative potential of culture to promote effective access and full participation in culture for children and adolescents, in order to promote their social inclusion in their immediate environment.
