Vol. II

September 15 — December 10, 2026

MIFDB Vol. II returns this September. We launch our autumn programme with the Archipelago open call for creative submissions, which this year is dedicated to filmmaker Barbara Hammer, a pioneer of lesbian and experimental cinema. From October onwards, the travelling programme Known and Recognised will tour different municipalities across Catalonia, showcasing recent works by Catalan women filmmakers and helping to decentralise film screenings throughout the territory.

Also in October, as part of the Latin American Women Filmmakers programme, we will focus on contemporary Brazilian filmmaking, presenting three films that explore the experiences of teenagers and young adults in Brazil.

In early November, we will present the new MIFDB Documentation Centre together with the team at the Filmoteca de Catalunya. The centre is housed within the Filmoteca’s facilities.

Meanwhile, this year’s Feminist Film Manifestos XII programme will feature three screenings and a workshop that question conventional notions of beauty and explore processes of estrangement from one’s own body, in dialogue with the exhibition The Cult of Beauty.
This autumn, we present a new constellation of filmmakers whose work reflects on the legacies of feminist struggles from previous decades, revisiting and reworking them while reshaping cinematic language through their own practices.
