Cinema Out of Place is MIFDB’s open-air film programme. As the temperature rises in Barcelona, MIFDB screens are set up in squares in the Gràcia, Ciutat Vella and Nou Barris districts, showing films directed by and starring queer people. It’s a programme designed to help you survive the summer with friends, partners, lovers or strangers in the city, while expanding the collective imagination of contemporary and historical queer female directors. Cinema Out of Place is a call to occupy public spaces with our communities, stories, and identities.
To conclude the programme, the Nou Barris district will screen the winning films from Cortos en Femenino 2026 in July. This is a short film competition for women organised by TRAMA, the coordinating body for film, video and multimedia exhibitions and festivals created by women.
This program is part of the events associated with the Jornades Feminismes en Revolta.
